can a cut superficial temporal artery in the scalp cause blindness?

Post by Brennick77 » Sat May 04, 2019 5:00 pm

Was learning about the effects of cut arteries was curious what the effects would be if the superficial temporal artery (sta) was severed. I was told it doesn't supply the eye however, severe drop in blood pressure, due to massive blood loss, can precipitate glaucoma, even in someone with a normal Intra Ocular Pressure.

What about the effects on eyesight of any cut sta branches across the top of the scalp?

Anyone know more about this? is this generally seen a lot? thanks.
