What's performance testing?

Post by hickchick1981 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 2:23 am

I'm a lab tech who does medical research. I have no experience with ecology or the study of evolution in the laboratory.

I recently learned that performance is studied in the lab to gain insight related to evolution in the natural environment.

Can anyone please tell me more about what performance studies are in terms of evolution?

Thank you so much!

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8878686 This study always impressed me as a good illustration of how much variation can exist in a population upon which selection can act.
