Do you have the stats for this jaguar count? It would be interesting to know the count of each of the species on the extinction list.

Just by comparing intelligence levels with humans, I cast my vote for dolphins. These sea mammals have a cerebral cortex which is about 40% larger a human being's, which is built about the same way. The parietal lobe of dolphins is also considerably bigger than the human parietal and frontal lobes c...

Of Black Tigers and Lions

Just thought that people might be interested in checking out these. Melanin is the dark pigmentation which is responsible for the tanning yet damaging process which occurs in humans when they're exposed to sunlight. A melanistic animal has an increased amount of this black or nearly black pigmentati...

Yes, Inuyasha, I am pretty sure that there are white lions out there. If there are rare genes coding for whiteness for tigers, then why not for white lions? I think that the Las Vegas performing couple Siegfried and Roy have a white lion. Here's some information on white lions, I was looking through...

But they definitely cannot survive on blood alone, can they? It would be drinking just water. Sure, you can live for quite a while with just that, but you'll get quite skinny. Besides, didn't this "blood lust" originally came from the idea that you can reach immortality in Indian, Greek, and Christi...

People of royal blood too, then? And also "big" families? In some cultures, parents want their offsprings to carry the name and "purity" of their tree.

Thanks for backing me up, biostudent. The "juice" from boiling orange skin actually tastes alright, that is, if you've tried Chinese herbal medicine before. Besides, it was the first time I had that kind of things before, and it's really not that bad. And yeah, they have raw scorpions in China, roas...

Of White Tigers and Lions

Kinda linking this topic to Inuyasha's about Tigons and Ligers. Are white tigers and lions some sort of hybrids too? Are there some kind of genetic mutations? Or are they simply put, in their own group? Also, are there any other types of "whities" out there?

Wow Inu, that's quite a list there. I'm really skeptical about whether you've visited them all, haha. Anyway, I'll generate a list here myself as well...your list, and what I think of it: 1. Lowry Park Zoo: Interesting, "Voted #1 Family Friendly Zoo in America"...seems like a good zoo for entertainm...

Yes, this NLP technique would prove to be more effective if perfected. However, since the use of a method and its morality issue are two different things, I am still against the idea of teaching one skills through fixing one's brain.

Viewing Profiles

The new layout is more efficient, so I'm giving my thanks to the administrator. However, what happened to the "memberlist"? And what happened to the option of viewing another member's profile? They're either not there anymore, or that I just haven't looked hard enough.
