errr your question is too broad as mentioned already. Proteins can be made in the lab pretty simple, but in natural systems u need mRNA, because thats how things have been for billions of years. I hope u got it.

this is bioinformatics stuff, did the program do a simple alignment search? The DNA sequence is of course of the protein right? Not the genomic sequence? Is the DNA cDNA or dos it contain introns, but all in all, it should give u the same info. I think the NCBI blastn thing works pretty well for the...
