Re: Are red blood cells alive?

I'm reading about the criteria for life and how each of our individual cells are living. Since red blood cells do not fulfill all the criteria for life (do not reproduce) are they still considered alive? Only the mature Red Blood Cells can not reproduce. Before the maturation, they can reproduce. I...

Eukaryotic Genome Comparison via rRNA?

To genetically compare and to create phlogenetic tree of different prokaryotic species, we use 16S rRNA encoding DNA as a reference.

But, which genes are used as a reference, when we compare the eukaryotic species?

Re: DNA Replication Lagging Strand

Oh My! You are right! Primase is actually RNA polymerase . So the order should be like that; ⋅ RNA polymerase (add primer) ⋅ DNA polymerase (replicate) ⋅ RNAse (remove primer) ⋅ DNA polymerase (add nucleotides to where the primer was) ⋅ DNA Ligase (l...

Re: DNA Replication Lagging Strand

Primers made by primase enzyme. However, it is not found in question. After helicase enzyme seperate two strands, Primase adds primers. After then, the order is what firecloak said.

DNA polymerase
RNAse (remove primer)
DNA polymerase (add nucleotides to where the primer was)
DNA Ligase

I think that answer of the second question is a.

I think its about RNA-DNA pairing during transcription.
