Any one know of any Snails of the same Genus, or even family, that are well studied and might have some genomic sequences lieing around on the web? cause i cant find any... :(

Re: Uses for the PCR technique?

you probably have the right idea for some of these but based on how you described it, it looks like your thinking PCR is something else so let me help you out here Highly simplified and leaving out lots of technical info, Picture DNA as a big book... PCR is a Photocopier that lets you make scientifi...

If by MicroSatellite System you mean a DNA primers that copy microSatellites then we already have that and we had a poster of our Findings at PAG this year.... I honestly think the eggs they gave me are not firtilized or maybe they tried to firtilize them and it didnt work or something... or atleast...

They are Chiricahua Leopard Frog (Rana chiricahuensis) eggs. Microsatellites have been tryed on the eggs but due to the Unfirtilization of the eggs there is only one set of Cromosomes to try to PRC making it so i can not transer from one tube to another.... I currently have my Single Tube Method up ...

Single PCR tube DNA Extraction Method

I need to make a DNA extraction Method that fits in a single 150ul PCR tube and can be PCRed following the completion of the method. So, here are my ideas and method and please comment and give suggestions. PCR Tube- Mixed inside PCR tube 10ul of 1% SDS solution 10ul of Protein K Kinase 15ul of Nucl...

hmmm so you sequence the mtDNA and based on how similar it is you can tell how closely 2 organisms are related within limits? Interesting.... what are the limits if i may ask? Also i asked my Biology teacher about this and he told me something about "The HyperVariable Region" and it might ...

Well i have done some research on this a little bit and it lookes like this is only useful in determaning if 2 animals are of the same Species... im more needing how closely related 2 animals of the same species are, like if they share the same mother or if they are completely unrelated... seeing as...

Re: Can you use mtDNA to...

What do you mean Molecular Clock?
And can you give me more specifics on how this works? You just extract the DNA, PCR it, and Sequence it?

Re: Frog Egg Physilogy

Thanks for the Other Frog to look at Mr. misery i found some potentially usefull info on that end. On the PCR side of things i am using unfirtilized Frog eggs meaning in theory there should be only 1 set of nuclear DNA chromosomes on the Egg masses which means i have to do everything inside of a sin...

Frog Egg Physilogy

Hi! In one of my Research Projects i have been stuck with the Troublesome task of extracting DNA from some Unfertilized frog eggs… they are Chiricahua Leopard Frog (Rana chiricahuensis) eggs and I have asked many “experts” on this type frog and they knew nothing about them in the slightest. As Such ...
