Glucose, Fructose and Starch

Hi, I believe that both glucose and fructose are monosaccharides and that both are stored as starch in a plant. What I don't understand is how glucose promotes starch formation quicker than fructose if they are both monosaccharides. Surely it should take the same time? Or is there another structual ...

Q10 test?

Okay, I am rubbish at anything to do with maths. Please can someone explain in very simple terms how to work out a temperature coefficent? The experiment I've done involves the affect of temperature on the leakage of pigment from beetroot. An example result I have is: Temperature = 22 (C) Average tr...

Lyme disease

It's a disease bought on a tick bite and has similar symptoms to flu.

Does anyone know how serious it is? My sister has it and she's really weak, my mum's taking her to hospital but do you know how long it is before she starts getting better?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Meniscus?

My biology teacher gave us instructions on how to set up a potometer. According to him the way to measure the rate of transpiration is to measure the distance moved by the air/water meniscus in a given time. I looked up meniscus in your dictionary but I couldn't find anything relating to plants. , I...
