Granum

(Science: plant biology) stack of thylakoids in the chloroplast, containing the light harvesting system and the enzymes responsible for the light dependent reactions of photosynthesis. Forming part of the lammelae in chloroplasts, a photosynthetic-capable cell.

granum (pl. grana), are compacted areas containing many quantasomes, where their capabilities are harnessed in the photochemical stage of photosynthesis.
