Dictionary » Z » Zoisite Zoisitezoisite (Science: chemical) A grayish or whitish mineral occurring in orthorhombic, prismatic crystals, also in columnar masses. It is a silicate of alumina and lime, and is allied to epidote. Origin: After its discoverer, Von Zois, an Austrian mineralogist.
