Vessel efferent

vessel, efferent

A vessel carrying blood away from the heart. An artery or arteriole. Efferent comes from the latin e- or ex- meaning out or away _ ferre, to bear. The opposite of an efferent vessel is an afferent vessel, a vein or venule.
