teriparatide

A synthetic polypeptide that consists of the 1-34 amino-acid fragment of human parathyroid hormone, the biologically active n-terminal region. The acetate is given by intravenous infusion in the differential diagnosis of hypoparathyroidism and pseudohypoparathyroidism.
