The hard fat around the kidneys of cattle and sheep; when rendered it yields tallow.

Prepared suet, the internal fat of the abdomen of the sheep, Ovis aries, purified by melting and straining; used in pharmacy in making ointments.

Synonym: prepared mutton tallow.
