Dictionary » S » Sine Sinesine (Science: mathematics) The length of a perpendicular drawn from one extremity of an arc of a circle to the diameter drawn through the other extremity. The perpendicular itself. See Sine of angle, below. Artificial sines, logarithms of the natural sines, or logarithmic sines. Curve of sines. See sinusoid. Natural sines, the decimals expressing the values of the sines, the radius being unity. Sine of an angle, in a circle whose radius is unity, the sine of the arc that measures the angle; in a right-angled triangle, the side opposite the given angle divided by the hypotenuse. See Trigonometrical function, under Function. Versed sine, that part of the diameter between the sine and the arc. Origin: LL. Sinus a sine, L. Sinus bosom, used in translating the Ar. Jaib, properly, bosom, but probably read by mistake (the consonants being the same) for an original jiba sine, from Skr. Jiva bowstring, chord of an arc, sine. ![]()

Results from our forumHobbit Skull Comparison Software's Unexpected Result.... In a Fourier Transform an idealized waveform (in this case not a sine instead of a square) of same magnitude is moved across the waves (or vice versa) to be analyzed one small step at a time. At each step corresponding ...

Hobbit Skull Comparison Software's Unexpected Result.... from center of socket at each angle. We then have a distorted AC signal that has a "phase angle" determined by fitting to a four cycle sine or triangle wave. Can test it with modern Asian skulls compared to the European socket. But I would need a harder to find straight-on look at the ...

Re: the organic principleThe quote was mentioned on the paper's site and the author insists that this was a conditio sine qua non of his theory. I googled "hawking quote" and found it on Wiki: If we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle ...

what is the phase problem? x ray crystallography... counter of some sort, a piece of film, or an image plate, or ccd, for example. The phase of a reflection is analogous to phase differences between sine or cosine waves or the diffraction of photons in a double-slit experiment, and comes from the interference between radiation diffracted by different ...
