Dictionary » S » Sex linkage Sex linkageDefinition noun A condition in which a characteristic that apparently manifests more frequently in one sex than in the other is associated with the gene(s) located in the sex chromosome.
There are certain characteristics that are apparently expressed more frequently in one sex than the other (such as in males than in females). This only shows that the genes in the sex chromosomes have an influence in the expression of certain characteristics of an individual.
