(Science: botany) A tropical plant (Ananassa sativa); also, its fruit; so called from the resemblance of the latter, in shape and external appearance, to the cone of the pine tree. Its origin is unknown, though conjectured to be American.

Inclusions found in pineapple cells

Quite often when we eat a non-cooked pineapple, our throat feel itchy or irritated. Can anyone give an explanation on what these non-cytolplasmic inclusions are which cause irritation to a person's throat?

Why are artificial colors and flavours bad for you?

Artificial flavours contain esters. These esters give flavours e.g.- methyl butyrate gives flavour of pineapple. Some isenses also contain them. Some of these esters r carcinogenic can cause cancer! Hence don't it Pineapple cream biscuits! Understand!
