definition for the word/verb pellet... here). As a verb 'pelleting' means that you make a pellet out of something, and the adjective 'pelletable' simply means something one can make pellets out of.

Denatured alcohol... when making up Buffer PE but what about other things in general? Like fixing cells with 3:1 methanol:ethanol, H&E staining, washing DNA pellets or even making 70% ethanol for cleaning things for tissue culture? If it's still ok to use, should it be treated as 90% when doing calculations?

Re: Identify the nucleic acid!... If you’ve never run a CsCl gradient before, consider yourself lucky. The intense staining at the bottom of the tube is due to all the rRNA that pellets there.

Re: PETA... an investigation on the unknown death of at least 20 stray cats in one of the local municipality here. Cats were found to be shot with air gun pellets.
