(Science: anatomy) One of two small oval bodies situated on either side of the uterus on the posterior surface of the broad ligament. The structures in which the ova (eggs) are developed and released during ovulation.

Stomach bloating and weight gain

... around my period....even though I had a partial hysterectomy around 8 years ago (around the same time my symptoms appeared). I still have my ovaries, so I know when that time of the month should be because I get severe migranes and have the symptoms of pms like most (acne, moodiness, bloating...) ...

classification of strange colony

... would know how to classify this colony. it is large- about 7mm across, and was growing on nutrient agar. the bacteria was swabbed from within the ovaries of Dicathais orbita, a predatory marine whelk. i'm just not quite sure how to describe the texture or appearance of this thing. is it rugose? ...

X-linked inheritance

... could there be any such diseases that are only affecting females even though that males can cary them for example a hereditary disease that affect ovaries (a male would be able to carry but not to be affected)??? I ask that from lack of knowledge.
