Just a question to ponder.... the head rests at in relation to the spine is different in quadrapeds and bipeds. A more extreme example would be to compare the locations of the occipital fossa in dolphins and humans. One is clearly designed for a horizontal body-pattern, and the other is more adapted to an upright posture.

occipital lobe and eyes... Of course there are many other problems that cause people to wear glasses; Presbyopia, astigmatism, etc. As far as there being a defect in the occipital lobe, I wouldn't know. Perhaps someone else has some ideas?

BrainiacsCoincidences. The occipital lobe has very little to do with intelligence. That is the kind of thing a phrenologist would tell you probably :D
