Dictionary » M » Mole MoleDefinition noun, plural: moles (chemistry) (1) The SI unit of amount of substance of a chemical system that contains as many elementary unit as there are atoms in 0.012 kg of carbon-12. Symbol: mol. (2) The molecular weight of a substance (in grams); gram molecule. (zoology) (1) True moles: any of the various small insectivorous mammals of the family Talpidae; predominantly burrowing species, others are aquatic or semi-aquatic. Most of them have cylindrical bodies covered in fur; their eyes are generally small or covered; ears are generally not visible; strong forefeet. (2) Other animals unrelated to true moles: such as the Golden mole (a burrowing insectivorous mammal in the family Chrysochloridae), the marsupial mole (a burrowing insectivorous marsupial mammal of the order Notoryctemorphia), and duck mole (a platypus). (dermatology) A small, congenital, pigmented spot or blemish on the skin, usually slightly raised and sometimes hairy; a nevus. Results from our forumcellular respiration???... are groups or units of electron carriers found embedded in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Keeping it simple cellular respiration starts with a molecule of glucose, which is a six carbon sugar. It is converted to two molecules of pyruvate (Pyruvic acid) in the first step, with the formation ...

Re: Calculating the number of plasmid molecules... one of the numbers you need, but you kinda got the right answer for the wrong reason, and you haven't determined the mass, you've determined the molecular weight in gm/mole of the 3000 bp plasmid. You've been gven the molecular weight of an average nucleotide (320 gm/mole), but the plasmid is ...
