Lacus lacrimalis --> lacrimal lake

The small cistern-like area of the conjunctiva at the medial angle of the eye, in which the tears collect after bathing the anterior surface of the eyeball and the conjunctival sac.

Synonym: lacus lacrimalis, lacrimal bay.
