Intraperitoneal pregnancy --> abdominal pregnancy

The implantation and development of the ovum in the peritoneal cavity, usually secondary to an early rupture of a tubal pregnancy; very rarely, primary implantation may occur in the peritoneal cavity.

Synonym: abdominocyesis, intraperitoneal pregnancy.
