Re: Conservative region of a gene... you were asked to determine whether the SNP is in a conserved region for the first reason, that is, to determine whether the SNP is likely to interfere with a critical function of the gene product.

Cell lysis and Lowry assay for 2D electrophoresis... cell lysis. I know that Lowry assay is not reducing agent compatible, but the DTT concentration in this 2D buffer is 50mM. Do you think it will interfere with the Lowry assay? 3)I assume I can't use Bradford assay here since I am using a detergent, CHAPS. Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: Denaturation of enzymes... single disulphide bond were to form first, before all the covalent bonds had finished creating the primary structure? Is this something that would interfere with renaturation? If I'm understanding it right, it seems that this is a very delicate process in which there are many variables that could ...
