1. (Science: zoology) The genus of primates that includes humans. Homo sapiens, modern human beings.

Origin: L. Man

2. (Science: prefix) Combining form meaning the same, alike; opposite of hetero-.

3. (Science: chemistry) a prefix used to indicate insertion of one more carbon atom in a chain (i.e., insertion of a methylene moiety).

Origin: g. Homos, the same

... is a species so you can't tell what it was. I really hate to be sarcastic gamila but if I use your reasoning then I don't know if I'm a human (homo sapien) because that's meaninglessness. Why don't you try something else that's more helpful or informative.
