1. Imperfectly illuminated; dismal through obscurity or darkness; dusky; dim; clouded; as, the cavern was gloomy. Though hid in gloomiest shade.

2. Affected with, or expressing, gloom; melancholy; dejected; as, a gloomy temper or countenance.

Synonym: Dark, dim, dusky, dismal, cloudy, moody, sullen, morose, melancholy, sad, downcast, depressed, dejected, disheartened.

Origin: Gloomier; Gloomiest.

... keep him busy for a while Only kidding good for you maybe ghost are aliens in disguise and by malfunction of there camouflage suits we see them as gloomy objects and to fix there errors they manipulate our mind to believe there ghosts. Any thing goes nowadays except a good plasmid
