Frameshift

(Science: molecular biology) a shift in the reading frame used to translate the base sequence of dna or mrna. It is caused by the addition or deletion of one or more of the bases, resulting in an alternative peptide being formed.

What are your experiences with 3' RACE? It's not working very well for me. I got some additional sequences, but when translated in all 6 frames, there's multiple stop codons. It's weird because the sequences are amplified from an mRNA library. Shouldn't the sequences I get all be coding and ...
