Fillet layer --> stratum lemnisci

a largely fibrous (hence whitish) layer of the superior colliculus separating the middle gray layer of superior colliculus from the deep gray layer of superior colliculus and containing, among others, fibres from the spinal and trigeminal lemnisci.

Synonym: fillet layer.
