Facies posterior --> posterior surface

The surface of a part of the body that faces toward the posterior part of the body. The na recognises a posterior surface without qualification on the following structures: arm; arytenoid cartilage; cornea; eyelid; fibula; humerus; iris; kidney; leg; pancreas; prostate; radius; suprarenal gland; ulna.

Synonym: facies posterior.
