
Dictionary » E » Ets EtsEts (Science: oncogene) a proto-oncogene that causes leukaemias in chickens. It is found in E26 transforming retrovirus (v-ets) of chickens and encodes a nuclear protein that can bind dna and regulates the initiation of transcription from a range of cellular and viral promoter and enhancer elements which may help activate and proliferate t lymphocyte cells. There is some interaction between ets and AP1. ![]()
