Electrical energy

A form of energy present in any electric field or magnetic field, or in any volume containing electromagnetic radiation. It may be expressed as joule (si unit), or as watt-hour(W·h) or kilowatt-hour (kW·h.) when applied by electrical utility companies in measuring the use or generation of electric power over a period of time.
