Dry distillation

Submission of an organic substance to heat in a closed vessel so that oxygen is absent and combustion prevented, with the objective of effecting its decomposition with release of volatile constituents and the formation of new substances.

Synonym: destructive distillation.

Fermentation experiment help?

... vodka (vodka 40% of ethanol). The stronger the effects the better fermentation (more ethanol was produced). Your comment does not even allude to distillation but offers the impression that vodka is produced by fermentation. Please be careful when you try to misquote me.
