Desiccated pituitary --> posterior pituitary

The cleaned, dried, and powdered posterior lobe obtained from the pituitary Body of domestic animals used for food by humans; an oxytocic, vasoconstrictor, antidiuretic, and a stimulant of intestinal motility.

Synonym: desiccated pituitary, hypophysis sicca.
