Cytotoxic

(Science: pharmacology) chemicals that are directly toxic to cells, preventing their reproduction or growth. Cytotoxic agents can, as a side effect, damage healthy, noncancerous tissues or organs which have a high proportion of actively dividing cells, for example, bone marrow, hair follicles. These side effects limit the amount and frequency of drug administration.

Lipid Trafficking

... bystander cells do not get activated unnecessarily. This phenomenon is called an immunological synapse. Somewhat similar synapse is also formed by cytotoxic (CD8) lymphocytes and MHC I-expressing cells. What this has to do with lipid rafts? If I recall correctly, the cell uses lipid rafts to cluster ...

Re: Blood type changing spontaneously with a transplant?

... type, which then would not cause any kind of switch in the blood group either. Now, a very far-fetched scenario might be the use of some kind of a cytotoxic drug that kills all the existing lymphocytes and then the foremention events might happen (in theory) without the new, different type cells ...
