epinephrine

... has a direct effect on glycolysis other than to stimulate the production of glucose from glycogen. Beta adrenergic stimulation activates adenyl cyclase which increases the levels of cAMP, which activates cAMP-dependent kinase, that phosphorylates (activates) phosphorylase kinase, which in turn ...

LIF, HGF and G alpha s

... Now i dont know how LIF + HGF causes self-renewal; I don't know how the LIF pathway predominates. When Gas is on; this cause adenylate cyclase to be active and causes the production of cAMP I know that cAMP activates PKA which inhibits MAPK, so I dont know how you still get differentiation ...

The Fiber Disease

... and gamma divisions of the Proteobacteria, were cloned and overexpressed. All recombinant proteins were purified and found to possess diguanylate cyclase (DGC) activity involved in c-di-GMP synthesis. The individual GGDEF domains from two proteins were overexpressed, purified, and shown to possess ...

... takes place. Golden rice was created by transforming rice with three beta-carotene biosynthesis genes: 1. psy (phytoene synthase) 2. lyc (lycopene cyclase) both from daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus), and 3. crt1 from the soil bacterium Erwinia uredovora The psy, lyc and crt1 genes were transformed ...
