... though this is quite rare in humans in general. Usually neutrophils are the most numerous, followed by lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils.

the latter is right. basophils are definitely the least abundant type of blood cells, and neutrophils are the most common.

... in eradicating the pathogen. IgE has a different heavy chain from IgG subtypes, and is capable of binding with high affinity to the surface of basophils and mast cells (Fce receptors). They also have different kind of disulphide bonding and N-linked carbohydrates when compared to IgGs.

... antibodies and a delayed T-cell response. allergic reactions only refers to type I hypersensitivity i.e. immediate IgE release from mast cells and basophils... e.g. hayfever, peanut allergy... coeliac disease is a cell mediated autoimmunity i.e. a 'delayed T cell responce'... it is a type IV hypersensitivity ...
