(Science: cardiology, physiology) Any variation from the normal rhythm of the heart beat, including sinus arrhythmia, premature beat, heart block, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, pulsus alternans and paroxysmal tachycardia.

Origin: gr. Rhythmos = rhythm
