Results from our forum-: Basic Cell questions that no one can answer :-... are theses all the types of cells available in any live form ? AAAAANNNNDDD I have read that collagen is the most dominant glycoprotein in the Extracellular matix amoung animal cells. Is that true? And does that apply to EVERY CELL ? Because I doubt that that applies to ...

virology... Abs to cap viral Ags on the cell surface. This promotes the shredding of viral Ags from the cell surface, leaving the cell surface free of viral glycoprotein and thus the infected cell is protected from CTLs and K cells. Some retroviruses may become undetectable following a primary infection ...

mannose extraction with methanol/chloroformyes,i think you have it exactly on target. Glycoprotein synthesis occurs by attaching sugars evolved from dolichol phosphate. Dolichol, of course, is a lipid, and can be extracted by using methanol/chloroform.

mannose extraction with methanol/chloroformHi, ive been looking in my biochem books for why mannose can be extracted with methanol/chloroform in glycoprotein synthesis. I dont really get it, does the methanol/chloroform attach to a dolicol which is attached to two phosphate groups which is then attached to mannose? ...
