When does photolysis occur?

Post by HbLee » Sat Jan 16, 2016 11:24 am

I'm studying photosynthesis and trying to summarize it.

It seems like people say photolysis is the very first step of light-dependent reactions.
Then the two electrons to be excited at the reaction center come originally from the photolysis?

Two more questions,
Do photosystems share the light energy or each antenna complex of the systems collects the light energy separately?

Is it correct to say that when photosynthesis begins, the antenna complex absorbs the light enery(or a photon) and passes it to the reaction center. Two electrons from water then are excited and travel through the electron transport chain ~ blah blah blah.

Photosynthesis must be a mechanism that's kinda easy for students!!!
But so confusing to me hahah
