Monocot leaf cross section

Post by johntdlemon » Tue Nov 13, 2012 2:46 am

Hi! I'm new here. :)
There's a question I need solved:
Can one tell which side is the upper epidermis from the cross section of a monocot leaf, like this one?
Since monocot leaves don't have palisade tissue, and have stomata on both side,
I'm wondering if the answer lies in finding the phloem?

yeah, it should be the phloem/xylem orientation

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
