Ventricle SizeI was wondering which of heart ventricles was larger? I can't seem to find that information anywhere, and the right side appears larger in my textbook.
Re:
It would be nice to have an answer for both. In terms of volume I was thinking.
I'd presume the left side would have more pressure, does that make it smaller?
The ventricles are the same size, because they pump the same amount of blood. However, the wall of the left ventricle is much thicker because it needs to give rise to a much higher pressure. So, if you include the wall in your comparison, i would say the left is bigger.
