G6PD Tetraploid Question

Postby herbz100 on Wed Apr 09, 2008 3:20 pm

Need serious help with a set of questions and was wondering if anyone could help.

Would you expect a person of sex chromosome constititon XXXX to have higher , lower or approx equal concentrations of the enzyme G6PD as compared to a person whose sex chromosomes are XXXY. Justify your answer?

It is X-linked. Only 1 copy per pair should be transcribed in females, so equal concentrations should result.
