Enzymes and there importance

Postby lmn0816 on Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:18 pm

I need to answer this question and I want to make sure I am on the right track. What is the importance of the enzyme

This is my answer but I feel like I am missing something:

The reason enzymes are important is because of their role as a biological catalysts. If enzymes were not a part of the process reactions would not occur fast enough to support life. Enzymes are needed for metabolic reactions that keep us alive.

Thank you for your guidance.

You seem to be on the right track.
Also, enzymes are used in reactions other than metabolic.
