cell question(s)

Postby Roan on Fri Jan 25, 2008 9:58 pm

how does the mytochondrea work?

is it held in place by the cytoskeleton or is it just floating around?

are there waste products of the ATP energy thing?

what are they (the waste products)?

does the mitochondrea need O2?

why does O2 get combined with C?

Isn't the O2/C bonding the same process that makes fire?

Is that where the body heat comes from?

If no, where does the heat come from?

when waste products are expelled from the cell in those funny glob things what happens to it?

I heard that the intecellulat medeum is salt water, is that true?

would it be possible for humans to evolve during their lifetimes due to the cell divisions?

could cells in the body reproduce sexually to counteract aiging?

what causes genetic detereoration in the cells as they age?

is cellular degeneration avoidable?

You should make more of an effort to make your questions understandable.

Did you read the books carefully? Or not, read them and you will find the answers.

look up surface area/volume ratio. that should answer your question

This is a must so that the rate of diffusion is high enough to sustain the cells' activity. Yes, it has got something to do with the surface area/volume ratio.

each part of the cell is related , in fact ,very related
so when thing or effect come from one place in the cell to another palce in the same cell ,it calls for a small size.
in fact this is a funny question. Because if we could build a model which related to the size of a cell ,it is possible to find some thing or effect that would otherwise remain invisible.
Of couse , just possible.Mabey some work had been done on this .
