I nned to outline the role of the live in detoxification and the metabolism of alcohol and the long term consequences of exessive consumption on the liver.

@Darby: The pdf file is too complicated for the level of biology that I am studing and the other link cannot be found on any computer that I have access to.

If the pdf is too complicated, the other one is probably, too. Sorry about the other - I've used JSTOR on several different computers and have never had any problems with it.
