In every forum I've been on (Except this one it seems) double posting annoys everyone and the mods on those forums ban members that double post.

except that we all know that sometimes the forum "hiccups" and double post without intending to do so. It happened to me and numerous others. It's easy to spot, to identical posts following one another... So we are not likely to ban anyone for that. We would just remove the second post discreetly if it is annoying. In this thread however, this is just useless, considering the intrinsic content of 99.9% of the posts (this is one of the few exceptions).

What might call the wrath of the mods upon the unfortunate user, however, would be the multiple posting of a similar post in different fora, showing an intent to annoy. That could lead one to be smitten by the eternal bannation, or more likely to receive a warning.
