Weak selection

Is there any example of weak selection working very slowly (but indeed working) ? Or effects of weak selection would be completely erased by regression to the mean ?

You cannot characterize regression to the mean as a force of selection(counterselection in this case). Any sort of selection acts to shift the population towards some direction(s).

It seems like any stable long-standing environment would exert weak selection on the populations in it.
