Is there a cell line that can synthesize ascorbic acid?

Just learned that many mammals (rat, mouse, etc.) can synthesize Vit. C in the liver for themselves. I has not even got a chance to check which cell type does the job (probably hepatocyte?).

i would agree, since it is the hepatocyte that carries out the metabolic functions in the liver.
