growing fetuscan any of you tell me what will happen to a growing fetus if the mother's excretory waste reaches to it through the umbilical artery?
A very bad situation.

growing fetusactually that's a case i have seen on the newspaper and as far as the news was concerned, the baby was fine when it was born but the mother wasn't
Have you forget about the Amnion (kinda liquid that protect the baby)? I've read it and one of the Amnion function is to prevent the fetus from bacteria (maybe it contains some antitoxin since one of the amnion former is Leucocyte)
I think you are right. Could there be any well developed defence mechanisms in that baby?[i mean it's possible isn't it "The roots of education is bitter, but the fruit is sweet" Aristotle
Possible, but i don't really think so. This happens very rarely, so evolution would not go towards people with such a defense mechanism. Also remember that the baby when it is born doesn't even have it's own immune system. What are the cahnces of it having such a defense mechanism?
