DNA/RNA order of synthesis?

Postby evointrigued on Sat Dec 01, 2007 3:42 pm

If a double helix unzips for the first time, does one half complementary base pair with A, C, G, and T to total another DNA? Or does it complementary base pairs to A, C, G, and U to total a double-helix of half DNA and half mRNA?

If it does both, which comes first? I'm a bit lost with the order of what happens.

Thanks.

Hmm. I just found the answer right after posting. The DNA replicates itself and then it later unzips again to complementary base pair with mRNA.
