Infectious Disease_Parasites... appropriate treatment?Ideas?I have been sick off and on for the past ~3 years, and since November have been breaking out in severe hives all over my body. In May, at the end of my rope, I paid to see an integrative medicine specialist. (I had already been to a number of ID, Derm, GI, GP, etc) He diagnosed to be allergic to both gluten and soy, as well as finding out my stool tested positive for toxoplasmosis, amoebas, and klebsiella (although those tests had been negative when tested over the past 3 years by other docs -- I had been in South America for 3 mo in 2005). Since avoiding these foods, my symptoms have been better, but just a week ago, I broke out into full body hives again, and I'm positive (as I only eat food i've prepared) nothing I ate had gluten or soy. I had not started my regimen for the parasites, because I'm in my first year of medical school, and was worried about side effects. After my frustration with this recent hives situation, I started the following prescribed meds:
Breakfast (~8:00am) - Alinia 500mg (1 tablet) – WITH FOOD - Primal Defense (1 tablet) - Calcium 600mg (1 tablet) - Colustrum 1.2g (1 tablet) – EMPTY stomach - YY (antihistamine) Lunch (~12:30pm) - Omega 3-6-9 1200mg (1 tablet) – WITH FOOD - Glutamine 1000mg (1 tablet) - Colustrum 1.2g (1) Dinner (~5:30pm) - Alinia 500mg (1 tablet) – WITH FOOD - Omega 3-6-9 1200mg (1 tablet) – WITH FOOD - Colustrum 1.2g (1 tablet) – EMPTY stomach Bed (~11:30pm) - Calcium 600mg (1 tablet) - Colustrum 1.2g (1 tablet) – EMPTY stomach - YY (antihistamine) That was on Monday, and by Thursday AM, I was violently ill, persisting into Friday. I'm hoping someone in ID knows something about this Alinia medication, or has some idea what I can do to help with this problem. Is it correct to think that the parasites and the continuous hive could be related? Any help would be appreciated, as I am currently living a nightmare, and have been on a gatorade regimen for the past 4 days, and my hives just came back again this morning. Not to mention that my physician is not making himself available or helpful with the issue. Crossing my fingers for an idea, ~eak
AllergiesHave they tested you for allergies?
