Actually the "5 posts before posting links" rule is useful. You may not be able to post links but you can still type in the url of the website so people can copy and paste the link so the can still get on the website.

This idea has been proposed before, and those of us who have been here a while and remember the problems we used to have with spam wholeheartedly support this rule. It causes no serious problem for new members (It's not hard at all to get five posts anyway.) and it majorly cuts down on the spam problem.
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

I think they should bump it up to 10, it's too easy to get 5.

Well considering the spam problem, i.e. very little now, I think the current policy works nicely.
